Final Fantasy X: Because of Lightning Ball Star, Tidus should actually be a second Mario
Tidus from Final Fantasy X is one of the most famous characters of the final fantasy series. Initially, the sporty protagonist looks a little superficial and not like one of the typical pondering protagonists in the series. He is not a nobody at the beginning of the game, but a star in the underwater sports lightning ball. But that could have come differently.
Tidus The Plumber: opposite Famitsu (via Kotaku) betrayed the Creator of Final Fantasy X that Tidus should initially have a completely different profession: Plumber. Just like Super Mario, at the beginning of the story, he should clean the pipes of his world before he attracts to an epic adventure to save them.
Why just a plumber?
To introduce the Womanizer and Sportstar Tidus as a hard-working plumber that sinks his arm in a toilet falls heavily. But there is an item that share lightning ball and drainpipes: water. "To get the character into the water, the original plan for Tidus was that he is an underwater plumber," reveals Game Writer Kazushige Nojima.
The cool wet is a central theme in Final Fantasy X. Sin, the monster who threatens the world who has to save Tidus with the help of his group is a huge whale, which logically comes out of the water. And even the etherious dead in Spira seem to be closely linked to the element of water.
From the plumber to the athlete: The outfit of Tidus seems to contain at least traces of his work clothes in which he was originally drawn. For example, the yellow sweater or the dungarees. Yoshinori Kitas, the producer of the JRPG, one day had the idea to make Tidus an athlete, as this had been a novelty for the franchise. Accordingly, the character design was adjusted.
